What each permission does, and where data goes.

On this website
The web demos use sample content. They do not read desktop windows, request Accessibility or Screen Recording permissions, or block real keyboard input.
The website has no third-party analytics, ads or tracking scripts, and does not identify visitors through cookies or local storage. Demo state and scroll position may be kept in the current tab’s history so they can be restored when you return.
Vercel hosts the website and may process IP addresses, access times and request information to provide and protect its service. Your browser requests public release information from api.github.com. Downloads come from GitHub and its download services.
What the app reads
Accessibility lets Unau read app and window information, including titles, identifiers, positions and state, and request a switch to a specific window. Screen Recording is optional and supplies image previews; audio is not captured. You can use icons and titles without image previews.
When you start Clean Keyboard, Unau temporarily filters standard keyboard events and detects a held Esc key for exit. It does not interpret typed characters, record key history or upload keyboard data. Filtering stops when cleaning ends, is cancelled or interrupted, or the app quits. It is inactive when the tool is not in use.
What stays on your Mac
Window lists and preview images stay in app memory and are not uploaded. The product does not intentionally save previews as image files. Closing the shelf stops live capture but does not immediately clear every cached image.
Collection names, selected window titles, app names, member order and some collection preferences are saved in a local, unencrypted file. It contains no preview images; window relinking needs your confirmation after a restart. Preferences such as language, favorite tools and tool options are also stored locally.
The app has no accounts, usage analytics or remote crash reporting. Diagnostics use macOS system logs. System error messages may contain identifiers or paths; macOS controls their retention.
When you check for updates
When you check for updates, the app fetches versions and notes from the public Unau-Updates feed on raw.githubusercontent.com. If you choose to download, the installer comes from GitHub and its download services. These services receive your IP address and normal network request information, not window titles, previews or keyboard data.
Automatic checks, automatic downloads and system profiling are disabled. You confirm downloading and installation separately, and update signatures are verified. Sparkle manages the local temporary files used for downloading and unpacking updates; these are separate from window-preview caches.
Your choices
You can revoke permissions in System Settings › Privacy & Security or quit Unau to stop it. Removing the app does not automatically remove collections and preferences. Quit the app first if you also want to remove those, then follow the guidance below.
Feedback is shared only when you send it. Review window titles, file paths and on-screen content before sharing screenshots or logs. Links to the author’s blog, support page, GitHub or other external sites are subject to those services’ privacy policies.
Remove local data
After quitting Unau, use Go to Folder in Finder to open the location below. Moving window-collections.json to Trash removes saved collections, window titles and order. Keep a backup if you want to restore them.
~/Library/Application Support/ink.komoribe.unau/To also clear preferences such as language, favorite tools and tool options, run this command after quitting the app. It deletes saved settings and cannot be undone.
defaults delete ink.komoribe.unau
